The 23-storey Beckley Point building is still in development.
The Student Housing Company, who manage the building, say the decision has been made to "ensure absolute peace of mind" for residents.
There had been concerns the re-cladding work would affect students moving in. But the TSHC say the building will be ready for new residents in mid-September 2017.
"Following the tragic fire in London on 14th June, there has been an understandably high level of public concern for any buildings which feature cladding panels as part of their design. We will be opening the property and welcoming our new residents to their accommodation in mid-September 2017."

Although students will be able to move into Beckley Point from September, there will still be scaffolding on some parts of the building until the end of the year.
According to the SHC, Beckley Point will be "fully compliant with all fire safety regulations".
The tower will have a round-the-clock fire alarm monitoring system, a full sprinkler system and 24/7 staff on site.
